Cruise - Day 2 - Taha'a (Oct 3)

Today we visit the island of Taha'a...and it is also the day of our vow renewal ceremony on the beach.

It was raining when we arrived so we had our ceremony under a little hut.
We are receiving a Tahitian blessing during the binding ceremony.

 Our vow renewal souvenir photo
After the ceremony we changed in to our swimsuits, grabbed some lunch and headed out for some snorkeling.  Doug could not snorkel, as he had injured his leg on a chair and the doctor said not to get in the water for fear of infection....so I was left to snorkel on my own.
I saw many lovely fish and I can't post that many photos so here is just one.
There was all kinds of different coral and many things living on the coral.
After snorkeling we went for a walk around the island (literally around the entire island)
We found an area where coconuts are replanted and marked to grow new palm trees.
The view of the ship from the island.
I just love the color of the waters here!

After our walk we decided to give kayaking another try...only individual ones this time.
That worked much better!

Back at the ship, taking in all the scenery of the island

What a memorable day!

We had originally planned to tour the tahitian vanilla plantation and black pearl farm, but the ship captain could only perform the ceremony on this date/time so we had to cancel.
