Paul Gauguin Cruise (Oct 1)

Saturday, October 1st we checked out of the hotel at 11am, enjoyed late breakfast/early lunch at the hotel restaurant, Vaitohe.  We then waited for the pre-scheduled transfer to the cruise ship at 2pm. While we waited, we met a very nice couple from Lavonia Michigan who were also going on the cruise.

Our breakfast companion that was cleaning up any scraps we dropped on the floor.

We boarded the ship by 3pm.

Paul Gauguin is the smallest cruise ship we have ever sailed.  The maximum capacity is 332 guests.
All cabins are ocean view accomodations. It is an all-inclusive cruise (gratuities, drinks, entertainment, water sports, etc)  The only thing we purchased ahead of time was photos, one t-shirt, one hat, base internet package and the laundry package (that was a great investment $119 for the entire week)  We sent laundry out everyday. It made packing much easier!!  Plus we didn't bring home "too" many dirty clothes.

When we arrived in our stateroom (#731) We were greeted by our stateroom attendant Rosenita. 
She showed us how things worked (the tub/shower got the best of me most days!)

Gifts from our travel agent included Wedding Reception/Renewal of Vows package.

This included a deluxe floral arrangement,
special blessing ceremony/reception on board,
renewal of vows ceremony on the beach,
bottle of Champagne,
reception cake and a box of Godiva chocolates,
Heis (crown of flowers) for our renewal of vows ceremony,
and one 8x10 photo.











The cake shown is from the Paul Gauguin, we would get our anniversary cake later in the week.

Our Stateroom - #731;  Ken & Kim Spooner were just 2 doors down in Room# 735

Ken & Kim arrived around midnight.  We enjoyed some drinks on deck as we sailed away in to the night.  Let the adventure begin!
