Thanksgiving Event - Day 4 (Saturday)

Brunch was sausage gravy with biscuits, scrambled eggs and a hash brown casserole.
Followed by lots and lots of family fun today.

Family tshirts were given out.






















20th Anniversary ornaments were distributed.

Unwrapping game by Dee

This was a package that had 11 layers of wrapping paper, some layers had a prize and some didn't.

1)   This gift I’m sorry is not for you, don’t give me any flack,
It’s for someone wearing something black.

Unwrapping game by JillJill had wrapped various small prizes/candy in plastic wrap.
8 players were selected by random draw.
They had to roll two dice and get doubles in order to start unwrapping.

The Smells of Christmas by JackieJackie had assembled several salt/pepper style jars and filled them with various scents of the season
Pine cone, poinsettia, baking spices, etc...
Players went around sniffing each container and writing down their best guess.

The adult color books were also a hit and highly utilized during the down time.

The BEST game.
1) Divide the teams equally (3 or 4 teams). This game is appropriate for kids and adults.
2) The host will give a category (a word ending in "est")
3) Each team will then decide which team member will perform the task
4) The host will then reveal the second part of the category.
5) Each team member performs the task. The winner of that round earns a point for their team.

The Biggest – Bubble Gum Bubble

The Fastest – One to stack 5 bolts
The Farthest – You can throw a paper airplane (each team member gets one practice throw)
The Funniest – Face
The Highest – Card you can draw from a deck of cards
The Largest – Amount of $ (wallet / purse)
The Longest – Balance on one foot (no help from a team member)
The Longest – Stare (complete in heats, if necessary)
The Longest – Strand of Hair
The Loudest – Burp
The Mostest – Marshmallows you can stuff in your mouth
The Quickest – One to kiss a mom
The Saddest – Puppy Dog Face
The Sharpest  - Student (Highest GPA)
The Shortest – Time to eat 3 crackers and then whistle

Items Needed Bubble gum, Hexagon nuts, Ruler/tape measure, Deck of cards, Large marshmallows, crackers, Paper airplane (made ahead of time in the 4 team colors)
I printed by categories on regular paper and taped to a colored folder
I used ribbon (4 different colors:Red, Yellow, Green, Blue) and people picked from envelopes to choose their teams.

 

And then there was the epic "Balance on one foot"
It lasted over 18 minutes until the judge (Doug) decided they needed to close their eyes.
That's an interesting video...it was a battle between "hopping" Alicia and "flying" Kristen.

It was an action packed day!!!

Dinner was Smoked pork sandwiches, beans, cole slaw, salad and other assorted leftovers.

Tomorrow everyone will head home to Iowa, Minnesota or Houston.

Looking forward to next year.
