Trip to Minnesota

Thursday, September 4th I flew to Minnesota to stay with my sister Jenny and her family.
Jen,Dwight and Allie picked me up at the airport and we were off to lunch at "NOOK" in St. Paul.
They had heard about if from the Food Network "Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives"  http://www.crnook.com/

After a delicious burger and fresh-cut fries, we were on our way to Rosemount.  I had not yet seen their new home in person. It was huge! They will have lots of room as the girls grow in to adults and leave the empty nest to Mom/Dad. :-)
Play Time!

 Making the "FLAMING" Cheese!
Making the Scoring Plates for the BeanBag toss game.
Making muffins to take camping

I was able to work in the afternoon from their home. Once Makayla got home from school. She was all about spending time with Aunt Dee. We crafted, toured her room and played Yahtzee. Jen and I went out to get some "supplies" for our camping trip and then we baked for the rest of the evening.

Friday morning, after Makayla went to school (and Dwight loaded the car for us) we were on our way to Ledges State Park in Boone,Iowa.  We stopped in Northfield, MN at Fireside Apple Orchard.

I picked up Dad some jalepeno pepper jelly, I picked up Mom 5 kinds of fudge and I got a jar of apple butter to take home as a souvenir.

Some yummy looking carmel apples.

I resisted the temptation because I got 3 bags of caramel apple suckers and 2 bags of Smarties from the Swanson family for my birthday.

SUGAR!! SUGAR!! SUGAR!!

Jen and I stopped in Clear Lake for lunch at Bennigans.
I just love their Monte Cristo sandwich and the Bennigan restaurants in Texas have closed due to bankruptcy.

Our last stop would be in Ames at a liquor store (A.J.s Liquor)
We picked up a 12 pack of Mike's Margaritas and the next stop is the camp ground.

Let's get this party started!!
