Nathan's Visit - Day 4

Tuesday morning, I got up and mowed the yard, cooled off in the pool and then called to Texas Motor Speedway to see when tours were available today. They were scheduled hourly from noon - 4pm.  So Nate and I left the house around 10:30am and drove to Fort Worth.
Nate with the the 150,000+ available seats at Texas Motor Speedway.
We could not get a ride around the track today as there were high school students from across Texas competing in a Solar Powered car competion. Above is one of the cars that had the best speed (only about 40 mph)

When the cars break down they have to go to the garage :-(
This is a view from the luxury suites available for lease.
Looking across the track at Big Hoss (218 feet wide and 12 stories high)
That is 79% larger than the big screen at AT&T stadium.

Below is a photo of Nate looking out over the track from the luxury suite.
This suite is currently available for leasing at $100,000
This suite has a capacity for 68 people and this price includes the viewing of all
three of the big races in Texas.
Some of these suites are owned by corporate sponsors, the remainder are individually leased.

After the tour we headed back home, but stopped at Academy Sports to see if Nate could find some black shorts for cross country.  He found a deal $5.99 each!!

Then it was one to lunch at A&W / KFC.  Nate had a burger and I had chicken.

Home for some R&R before we have to head to the airport later this afternoon.

Come back soon!
