Mother's Day 2014

Mother's Day was a whole weekend of activities

Friday, I received pink roses from Karl and Audrey.
They were gigantic rose buds that opened in to gigantic full roses.
Below are the yellow and peach roses Doug picked for me from our rose garden.

Friday I got to go out to lunch with Doug, Bruce & Kathy.
We had lunch at the Blu Ginger in Irving.
So I got dressed up and put on my Mary Kay makeup and took a selfie!

Friday afternoon, Karl called on his way home from work to wish me an early Mother's Day!

Saturday the Elliotts came over for lunch. I got a Mother's Day card and a homemade ice pack.
The icepack is large enough to cover most of my back/shoulder muscles that give me grief.
The ice pack was made with vodka and water. You'll have to ask Josh the recipe.  I guess if the pain ever gets bad enough, I'll just insert a straw and drink my ice pack slush until the pain goes away.
In the afternoon we went to Andrew's blastball game.

Sunday morning, Doug made me my most favorite breakfast, sausage biscuits and gravy.
After breakfast, I called and talked to my mom who was sick in bed so she wasn't having a good Mother's Day.  Late late morning Jackie called and we talked briefly before I had to leave and meet Jill in Frisco.  Jill and I headed to the Allen Outlet Mall for a little retail shopping. It turned out we purchased things for Andrew and nothing for ourselves.

Monday afternoon, I received a package from Jackie/Jonathan which included my Mother's Day card and a Mary Kay lemon parfait pedicure collection and Timewise skin repair products. I think I will wait to use these when Jackie visits this summer.

Thanks to all my children who all made me feel very special in their own unique way.

Love you all! <3
