Weekend Update

Friday after work, Doug and I headed to Calloway's Nursery in Flower Mound to get a few plants for sprucing up the old homestead.

We were able to find some yellow "Walking on Sunshine" rose bushes. We wanted to get some last year, but were too late as they get snapped up pretty fast.  This weekend was supposed to be sunny and 83 so we knew everyone would be out on Saturday shopping our favorite nursery. We are so glad we went and finally got these roses plus a few of our other favorites; Hawaiian Blue Daze (a ground cover that loves the Texas heat, but its an annual that attracts butterflies and we had alot of them last year) and some Kimono Tokyo Sunset calibrachoa plants.
Saturday morning, I got a text from Jill at 7:30 that said Andrew had been up most of the night with a fever and they were driving up to the CareNow in Carrollton. They stopped at Target and got his meds and came to our house for some rest before driving back to Kemp.

Andrew had his first dose of Zithromycin and some Tylenol and had about an hour nap.
He got up feeling better and wanted to come outside and see what Mimi and Poppi were doing.

Andrew is trying to get Poppi to throw the football around...maybe next time!

Andrew then decided to help Poppi clean up the dirt and mulch all over the patio. He's very helpful; anytime you get the broom or vacuum out he wants to run them around.
I say "Yes"! Let's teach the kid to enjoy doing chores!

Poppi in the process of planting the "Walking on Sunshine" rose bushes.

Completed landscaping.
The blue daze are in front and the side of the little girl statue.
They should fill in nicely by the middle of summer

I repotted the hybiscus in the pot by the front door and hung the new Spring wreath.

The blue phlox from last year are coming in pretty well around the front tree.
I planted the Kimono Tokyo Sunset calibrachoa plants and they
will expand and fill the remaining area around the tree.

Jill, Josh and Andrew left early in the afternoon to go home and pack boxes for their move to Frisco,TX at the end of the month.

Andrew has been helping pack for the move.
I think he's very excited to live only 10 minutes away from Mimi and Poppi!
I think Andrew is saying, "Can't we move now Mom?"

Jill sent me this photo today, wishing us a Happy St. Patricks Day!
It was too cute not to share!
Jill won't think so since she doesn't have make-up on today.

Before Doug left for the airport this morning, he went out to our rose garden
and picked a yellow rose bud for me. It has opened up beautifully!
Thanks Honey!  I just love yellow roses, they are my favorite!!
