Andrew Started Soccer

Saturday, Andrew started the local PreK soccer league.

They will learn the basics of soccer.
The hardest thing for them to remember is
"DON'T PICK UP THE BALL WITH YOUR HANDS!"

Girls Weekend - Friday

Friday morning, Jill, Jackie and I departed The Colony for Houston.

We stopped in Corsicana to visit the Scrappin' Goodtime store. It is a scrapbook store and retreat.
http://www.scrappingoodtime.com/ This store had many brands and a large variety of double sided paper than we've seen anywhere. We were there on the day of the owners 13th anniversary of opening the store. It is quite a place and we will definately be stopping at this location again!

Then we were off to Applebees for lunch and then visited the Collin Street Bakery where we tried to purchase a pumpkin pie. They only had pecan, apple and fudge pie.  So PLAN B, we will pick one up with groceries in Houston.

We arrived in Houston around 2:45pm, shopped for some groceries at HEB (to surprise Audrey with our early arrival and dinner).  We got to Karl and Audreys house around 3:30pm, unloaded the truck and proceeded to start dinner.  It was a quickly prepared (mini-Thanksgiving) meal: Turkey,  potatoes/gravy; baked sweet potatoes, cranberry sauce and pumpkin pie.

Karl is shown carving the turkey breast.

Friday evening we showed everything we brought for ftuture Baby Girl Kuklenz.

Jill brought her a big green tub of baby toys, bottle rack, sippy cups, changing pad and covers, boppy pillow and cover, receiving blankets, breast milk refrigeration package
 plus the musical activity center.
I got her a baby album
 Some stuffed animals
Mommy To Be 2014 - Hallmark Christmas ornament
 Some pink outfits
 A good supply of bibs
 Baby bath set

Putting the new crib bumper in place.

Karl found a good use for the boppy pillow.
He said he would use it as a neck pillow on his next flight.

Jackie brought Audrey lots of Auntie and Uncle onesies, some stroller/carseat toys.
We did not bring this outfit but it was one Audrey recently got from the neighbors.
Too cute!!

Tomorrow is Crafting Day!

Girls Weekend - Saturday

Saturday morning, Karl and Audrey made breakfast burritos.
Jill whipped up a pumpkin dip to have later in the day.

Then we proceeded to craft for the afternoon.

Jackie made wine cork angels
Winecorks - add wooden sphere - paint face
 Attach ribbon
 Attach hanger.

She made a whole container full.
and then was PHOTOBOMBED by Karl.

Jill made two types of wreaths
A Christmas (tied ribbon) wreath and a peacock wreath
(christmas gift for Josh's grandmother to put on her nursing home door)

Supplies for the peacock wreath
Add pipecleaners in various lengths around the wire wreath

Add wide width - turquoise glitter deco mesh
Add narrow width - purple glitter deco mesh
Add peacock and peacock feathers as embellishments.

Jill and I both experimented with making a Tied Ribbon wreath.
Supplies 12 inch wire circle 50 bows (18 inches of ribbon length per bow)
Jill made a Christmas wreath and I made a St. Patricks Day wreath.

Jill's finished wreaths
I made three wreaths: two Christmas (1 modern / 1 traditional) and one St. Patricks Day.
My modern wreath was one strand of silver garland wrapped on a white foam circle.

I purchased two picks: 1 ornament balls, the other was twists/curls in the same colors.
Added a bow last.

I need to wait until it is closer to St. Patricks Day for a green shamrock or leprachaun
embellishment to add to the green wreath.

Audrey disassembled an old Christmas wreath.
 Adding the new flowers
 Adding the gold ribbon.
Audrey also loved Jill's peacock wreath so we had a side trip to Hobby Lobby and she got some pink/purple/red to make a Valentine's Day wreath. She will wait until it's closer to Valentines Day to get some heart/cupid embellishment for her Valentines Day wreath.
Audrey's finished wreaths.

All our wreaths and other crafts too!

We finished up crafting by 5pm and got dressed up to go out for dinner.
Dinner reservations at 7pm.  J. Alexanders - Houston.
It was a fun and productive girls day!!
