Iowa weekend

Doug and I flew to Des Moines, Iowa on Friday, June 13th. We got our rental car and headed to the Walmart in Boone to pick up some items for the birthday party on Saturday.  We dropped off the items in Pomeroy before heading to Fonda for dinner and stay overnight at Doug's mom's house in Fonda.  Friday evening Doug was able to do a few things around the house for his mom.

Saturday, we headed over to Pomeroy for set-up for the birthday party for my sister Debbie. She would be 50 on Sunday, June 15th. My dad went over to Humboldt to pick her up and that gave us plenty of time to decorate. 

 

The day was interrupted with a rainshower or two, but that didn't dampen the spirits of all that attended.  

 

We had some time in the afternoon to re-create some family photos.

On Sunday, Lyla took us to Jefferson to Diane's church (First Presbyterian - Jefferson,IA)
We spent the rest of the day celebrating the June birthdays and Father's Day.
Sorry I don't have any photos of this as Diane hasn't sent me the photos yet. :-)

Monday we said our goodbyes in Fonda and Pomeroy.
Drove to Des Moines and turned in our car and flew back home.
It was a whirlwind trip, but it was sure great to see family!!
